An Ominous Start to Signing Day

SURPRISE: S Jordan Moore commits to TCU

Hey everyone.

Auburn still hasn’t added a new commitment since December. Safety Jordan Moore from Atlanta, who was expected to choose the Tigers over TCU, instead said he was taking his talents to Ft. Worth.

He’s an intriguing prospect for sure, but has played only three full games at safety. Moore was set to go to LSU on a track scholarship until football offers began pouring in during late December and January. Auburn was one of the first football programs to jump on board, but TCU wasn’t a late arrival by any means.

Previewing Auburn’s Signing Day schedule

By now, any Auburn fan paying attention to recruiting knows that Feb. 1 could make or break this class. Right now, the Tigers have 15 commits — 16 commits if new Tigers fullback Jay Prosch, a transfer from Illinois, is counted — and plenty of room to add many more of the dozen or so recruits the Tigers are still targeting.

But the schedule for signing day is something that can be hard to pin down, and the blog has gotten a few requests from fans for a heads-up on when the recruits plan to announce their decisions. No recruits are expected to announce tonight, but I’ve tried to compile the schedule for Auburn’s crazy ride to the finish.

Right now, this the final dead period before signing day. Coaches are not allowed to do any more home visits, although they can call. Auburn may have other offers in the works, but I tried to hit as many of the known targets as possible.

FSU 'Cruitin - On Par with Auburn in State of Alabama?

Perusing the list of Alabama's top 12 "Super Seniors", I find that Florida State has 3 commits from the state's blue chippers. The same number as Auburn. What F$U recruiter is pulling the only 5 star (Jaboo Winston) and two other 4 star prospects (Chris Casher and Justin Shanks) out of Alabubba? I do a little research, and sure as shit all 3 of these kids were recruited by Auburn's own Dameyune Craig, now QB's coach / recruiting coordinator for Free Shoes University, and my new favorite (most hopeful) candidate to land on Auburn's coaching staff in the future.

What bama has become after taking saban's lead:

Here's a great article published by The Never To Yield Foundation. After taking saban's lead in scumbag/ assholesnes the bama fanbase have taken a sense of entitlement and superiority while showing zero respect or class. This article says everything that we all know, but couldn't put it on paper. War Eagle! http://www.nevertoyieldfoundation.com/2012/the-cult-of-updyke-when-the-so-called-exceptions-become-the-rule/

Secondary That Can Compete

Our secondary is known for what? Giving up huge plays. Stanton and I agree that VanGorderstache should move Coach "Gramps" Lolley to an office, and bring in some young fiery guy to coach our ever-struggling DB's. First we need some big bodied athletes back there; guys that can compete with the Julio's and A.J.'s of the SEC. I'd be stoked to land these two Billy's on signing day.

• CB Ronald Darby (5* also considering Florida State and Notre Dame)
-not a monster at 5'11''.. but homeslice runs a 4.3/40

• S Jordan Moore (3* also considering TCU)
-a monster.. 6'3", 208lbs.. also runs in the 4.3 range

The quality of our class is outstanding, but we lack numbers. I'd love to add Moore because of his size and speed, despite his lack of "star power".

Darby is a 5 according to Scout; 4 at Rivals.

Defensive Line

Looking at who is possibly going to signw ith us these next few days, we have the opportunity to be very deep at a number of positions. The one I see us having the most depth, and a position that I see as crucial to winning games is the Defensive Line.  I know we may not get them all but damn, if we sign any combination of Leonard Williams, Eddie Goldman, and Arik Armstead, we'll be looking good in the trenches.  I would also like Avery Young in the trenches on the other side of the ball.  Maybe we get a few surprise LB's with some size in addition to Kwon Alexander.

I have not slept in a while. I'm addicted to Cruitin'!!!

“Everybody is going to find out what kind of a player I am and until that day comes, nothing else matters,” Robinson said. “I don’t care about T.J. Yeldon. I’ve never met him. If he’s walking away from Auburn, I don’t need to meet him. I love Auburn and I’m ready to be great for the other people who love Auburn. That’s all I think about." - Jovon Robinson

You've still got to go with the head cheerleader

Great article about Cassanova McKinzy..

Troop doing WORK

Ricardo Louis

Cancelled his in-home visit with Jimbo that was scheduled for tonight. Seeing that it's down to us and them and he visited in-home with Chiz, Troop and Lefty on Monday, I'd say we got him back committed to the good guys!

War Eagle!!

Eddie Goldman tells Saban no thanks.

Recruiting note: 5 star DT Eddie Goldman is now down to two, F$U and Auburn. Today he informed the bama coaching staff that he has decided to cancel his in-home visit from saban and co. It's looking good for the good guys! War Eagle!

Top Remaining Targets via Jay G Tate

DL/OL Arik Armstead from suburban Sacramento, Calif. — Visited Auburn two weeks ago. Wants to play football and basketball. Would like to spend his first season with his brother, DL Armond Armstead, who is looking to transfer away from Southern Cal. The SEC last summer banned the graduate-and-transfer rule (aka the Russell Wilson Rule), so it seems unlikely that Armond Armstead will be able to play in the SEC next season, though anything is possible. The Armsteads also are considering Oregon, Cal and a few other west coast schools. Both guys are major prospects.

WR Stefon Diggs from suburban Washington, D.C. — Visited Auburn two weeks ago. Short, quick guy. He’s also considering Florida, Southern Cal, Cal-Berkeley and Maryland. Diggs is a major, five-star prospect.

DT Eddie Goldman from Washington, D.C. — Made-to-order interior defender. Major, five-star prospect. It appears he’s down to Auburn and Florida State.

DB Ronald Darby from suburban Washington, D.C. — One of the five best cornerbacks available. Finalists include Auburn, Florida State and Notre Dame. Major, five-star prospect.

WR Cordarrelle Patterson from a Kansas junior college — Big receiver with really good speed; not epic speed. Knows how to cut back. Great hands. Nation’s best junior-college player. It’s down to Auburn, Tennessee, Georgia, Ole Miss and LSU. Major, five-star prospect.

OL Avery Young from West Palm Beach, Fla. — He’s 6-6 and very developed in a physical sense. He’s not a tubby guy who successed just because he’s big. TE Brandon Fulse is Young’s cousin and they talk. This is widely believed to be a battle between Auburn, Florida and Georgia. Excellent prospect, four or five stars depending on the site.

LB Kwon Alexander from Oxford H.S. — He’s in the top 10 or 15 in the country as an outside linebacker. It’s down to Auburn, Alabama, Florida State and LSU. Excellent prospect, four or five stars depending on the site.

DE Leonard Williams from Daytona Beach, Fla. — He’s a beast; tall, quick and powerful. He played inside in high school, but probably will be a strong-side end in college. Reminds me of Luis Castillo with the San Diego Chargers. Excellent prospect, four or five stars depending on the site. (I’d give him five.)

WR Ricardo Louis from suburban Miami — Big and relatively powerful wideout. Was committed to Auburn for most of 2011, decommitted earlier this month, committed to FSU, now is uncommitted again. It’s between Auburn and FSU. He’s a four-star guy.

OL Alex Kozan from suburban Denver, Colo. — Down to Auburn, Iowa and Michigan for Kozan, who probably will play guard in college. He’s a four-star guy.

OL Jordan Diamond from Chicago — Will play tackle in college. Down to Auburn, Arkansas, Ohio State, Michigan and Wisconsin. He’s a four-star guy.

ATH Jeremy Liggins from Oxford, Miss. — He’s 6-4 and played quarterback in high school, but his career could develop in any number of ways. It’s down to Auburn, Ole Miss, Alabama, Mississippi State and LSU. He’s a three-star guy, but that’s mainly due to uncertainty about his future position.

S Jordan Moore from Atlanta — Didn’t play safety until late in the high-school season and Moore expected to run track at LSU. Now he’s aiming to play football. It’s down to Auburn, TCU and perhaps North Carolina. He’s a three-star guy, but that’s mainly due to a lack of experience at the position.
